Welsh Society Membership

 

President announces new class of Society membership

Have you ever wished that your children grandchildren, nieces and nephews would share your interest in Welsh activities and heritage? Now you can achieve that wish by your gift of a Junior Membership in the Welsh Society of Philadelphia. Junior Members may be up to the age of 25, or any age if the member resides outside the WSP area.

As part of your gift, they will receive a membership certificate recognising you as sponsor and suitable for framing, WSP pin, Welsh flag, recent newsletters, and information on the Society's history. As members, they will receive all newsletters and be invited to all WSP activities. As our children scatter and marry into other ethnicities, they can easily forget the rich history of Wales, and their family's Welsh heritage. The Society Board hopes that this membership connection will renew and promote Junior Members' interest in their family history, and perhaps provide the future generation for our 270-year-old Society. Membership Information:

Membership in the society is open to anyone of Welsh descent. To be eligible, one has only to establish a family connection, however remote, with Wales. An Associate Membership is available for those who cannot establish Welsh Descent, but wish to join anyway.

  • Memberss receive a membership card, pin, member directory, Society mailings and publications.
  • Members receive notice of The Welsh Society Board Meetings, the Annual Business Meeting, the Saint David's Day Banquet (on or about the First of March), the Fall Dinner (October/November), and other Society events.

Membership Categories:

  • Regular Membership: $25.00 per year. Open to those of Welsh descent, and provides voting privileges in the Welsh Society.
  • Associate Member: $25.00 per year.Anyone who is not of Welsh descent may join the Society as a non-voting member.
  • Junior Membership: $12.00 for young family members, students (under 25), or any age who live outside of the Philadelphia area.
  • Life Membership: $500.00. Open to those of Welsh descent, and provides voting privileges in the Welsh Society.
